Newsletter March 2010

 World Book Day

World Book Day is on Wednesday 3rd March 2010. We have vouchers worth £1 to give to each child. These can be used to buy a £1 book or £1 off any children's book at Tesco's, Sainsbury's, WH Smith's and Waterstones. There'll be lots of opportunities for looking at books so if any parents want to come and share stories with their children they’d be very welcome.

Library Visits

We are continuing to make visits to Manningham Library and parents are welcome to join us. The visits are both morning and afternoon.  Please speak to your child’s teacher if you’d like to go along.

Dance

This term we have a dancer working with us. Her name is Sophie and she will be showing the children a variety of dance styles e.g. ballet and contemporary dance.

Visits to Places of Worship

To support our work on looking at the community around us we’ve organized visits to Bradford Cathedral and a Sikh temple (Gudwara) . Children will be able to look at the buildings and also find out a little bit about the different religious practices in our local community. Parents are welcome to join us.

Children's Progress Meetings for 3-5 year olds

Over the next few weeks your child's teacher will be contacting you to arrange a meeting to discuss your child's progress.

Election of Parent Governors

If you're interested in supporting and guiding the work of the school and the centre then there is an opportunity to join the Governing Body. We need 2 parent Governors who can be any parent who has a child in the school, childcare or comes to Toddler Group. Please see the letter asking for nominations out later this week.

Completion of Conservatory

You’ll be pleased to see that the new conservatory building is complete .If you’d like to have a look inside please ask staff to show you. We don’t have a name for this new space yet but have had suggestions of the ‘Snug and the ‘Square room’. We’ll use the room for quiet activities and for children to have rests.
